COLLIER "NINFEA ROSA"

Un collier nuovo, già richiesto e per ora non replicabile: è ispirato ad uno dei fiori che amo di più, la ninfea. Ho usato foglie in ottone Vinatj, saldate a steli in rame color bronzo martellato, ed al centro ho adagiato un fiore in pasta polimerica, con stami di microsfere. Alla semplicità dell'insieme ho aggiunto solo perle di fiume rosate e due pietre dure sempre in toni di rosa.

 

Waterlily is one of my favourite flowers...in this necklace I've chosen  a very simple design, consisting in two Vintaj brass lilipads, soldered to hammered copper stems; in the center I've placed a polymer clay waterlily, matching the colour of the blossom with freshwater pearls and hardstones.

 

 

COLLIER "VINEYARD IN TUSCANY" per il nuovo Vintaj Design Challenge

Here is my entry for the 2012 November Vintaj Design Challenge, having the theme "Harvest Moon".The inspiration for this necklace is taken from the memory of the Tuscan countryside where I spent a short vacation. I tried to evoke the richness of ripe grapes and the warm colors of the Italian landscape in early  autumn, using a wide variety of semi-precious stones, mixed with seed beads, glass leaves, Lucite flowers. The round Vintaj brass frame emphasizes the mother-of-pearl  "full moon" , and the moonlight is recalled also by  the two coin pearls . Not only form men it’s the harvest season: can you see the small birds pecking the grains? Voting will be open from October 29 – midnight November 2, with the challenge winner & editor’s pick posted on Monday, November 5. If anyone likes my work, and would like to vote it, I'll be very happy!

Ho creato un collier ad intreccio, inserendo gli elementi di ottone Vintaj - grappoli, uccellini, la cornice rotonda centrale- in un effeffto siepe, ispirato all'epoca della vendemmia e ai colori del'autunno; ho usato tantissime pietre dure diverse, perle in vetro, cristalli, fiori in lucite, ed inserito come tocco "lunare" due perle coin ed un disco di madreperla al centro.

 

ANELLO "GLAUKOPIS"

Un lavoro un po' diverso dal solito, interamente in argento: si tratta di un anello unisex, decisamente grande, con una base in argento 800 regolabile al dito, su cui ho applicato una civetta che avevo realizzato tempo fa, modellata in Art Clay Silver, (quindi argento 925). Il peso totale dell'anello è di 12gr. Negli occhi sono stati inseriti due piccoli cristalli. Si tratta di un pezzo unico, e non replicabile.

La civetta è un animale dal simbolismo affascinante, che si associa nel mito classico ad Atena, e alle sue prerogative: giustizia e sapienza. Gli occhi che vedono nel buio (Glaukopis è l' appellativo di Atena, "dagli occhi scintillanti")simboleggiano anche l'intelletto e la saggezza che vincono l'ignoranza.

A new work, a bit out of my "confort zone": it's a ring entirely made of silver.The base is a large adjustable silver band, and on the top I put a sterling silver owl, hand-modeled with Art Clay Silver . In the Greek myth, the bird symbolizes the goddess Athena, and her attributes, such as justice and wisdom. The ring has a generous size, and it is suitable both for men and for women.

COLLIER "SHANTI"

Reduce da un tour in Giappone..., ecco il collier che ha partecipato all'Art Clay Silver Contest 2009: è stato realizzato a 4 mani insieme a Marco Failla (Holler), e pur non essendosi qualificata, la nostra creazione ha ricevuto un apprezzamento dalla giuria giapponese per la combinazione dei materiali, ed un gradito omaggio in materiali dalla ditta Hobbyland.
Il collier è ovviamente in argento, pasta sintetica, microsfere, tormaline, goccia di agata.
Il nome allude alla meditazione yoga, richiamata dal fiore di loto, mentre il volto è chiaramente un tributo allo stile Liberty


Back from Japan, where it competed for the 2009 Art Clay Silver Contest, here's the "Shanti" necklace, made in collaboration with my friend Marco Failla/Holler.
Our work didn't receive any prize, but it has obtained the appreciation of the jury for its original materials combination.
The pendant is made of silver, of course, and polymer clay, microspheres, tourmaline beads, agathe drop.
