Un lavoro un po' diverso dal solito, interamente in argento: si tratta di un anello unisex, decisamente grande, con una base in argento 800 regolabile al dito, su cui ho applicato una civetta che avevo realizzato tempo fa, modellata in Art Clay Silver, (quindi argento 925). Il peso totale dell'anello è di 12gr. Negli occhi sono stati inseriti due piccoli cristalli. Si tratta di un pezzo unico, e non replicabile.
La civetta è un animale dal simbolismo affascinante, che si associa nel mito classico ad Atena, e alle sue prerogative: giustizia e sapienza. Gli occhi che vedono nel buio (Glaukopis è l' appellativo di Atena, "dagli occhi scintillanti")simboleggiano anche l'intelletto e la saggezza che vincono l'ignoranza.
A new work, a bit out of my "confort zone": it's a ring entirely made of silver.The base is a large adjustable silver band, and on the top I put a sterling silver owl, hand-modeled with Art Clay Silver . In the Greek myth, the bird symbolizes the goddess Athena, and her attributes, such as justice and wisdom. The ring has a generous size, and it is suitable both for men and for women.
